This cushion cut amethyst came out of a very ugly Retro 14K ring acquired in an auction that we scrapped a few years ago. Since it was so clean and such a nice size we had hoped to use it as a replacement in a piece of jewelry. This has not happened for us so we are selling it as we are close to retirement age.
We have never had the stone tested. It is clean and bright with wonderful transparency as I can clearly read thru it. It was cut by a quality craftsman as the facet rims are not at all ragged like a lot of stones today. It has no chips, cracks, ugly scratches or nasty abrasions but a few flea bites/specks. Remember it was mounted at one time but it was very carefully removed. We don't believe it to be heat treated due to it not being a dark color. The first 5 photos show the stone at different angles and sides. The last 2 photos show it surrounded with a fibrous pad behind it to simulate being inserted into a mounting.
We are seniors and as my husband has health problems I try to only do errands, like Ebay shipping, on Tues. and Fridays.
